About: Nutmeg is an ancient spice dating back to 1st century A.D. derived from the seed of a nutmeg tree, a native Indonesian evergreen. Interestingly, nutmeg spice sparked the conquest of the Banda Islands by the Dutch which resulted in the creation of the Dutch East India Trading Company.
